Experiences

• Helped a family of four who have lived together for over 50 years obtain a loan to purchase a new double-wide home to put on their family homestead land. We've taken them to new places in their community and through these experiences they have made many new friends.
• Assisted a family receiving limited supported living services in finding additional service hours through other agencies to "bridge the gap" in the service needs of their son, which has allowed Mom to continue working. He is now receiving both Supported Living and Core Plus services to meet his needs.
• Helped a gentleman whose brother had a severe heart attack make arrangements for a bus trip out of state so he could spend a couple of days with him. The good news is he is going back to visit his brother and sister again in July.
• Helped a gentleman who was working at an enclave making minimal income obtain another job out in the community, more than doubling his income and developing friendships at the same time. His financial situation has improved to the point he was able to take a vacation to Florida this year to see his sister.
• Assisted a young lady in obtaining a new, better paying job, with benefits, within a few days of quitting her job. We continue to assist and encourage her when she needs it. We also created a unique budgeting/bill paying system for her to help her to avoid financial problems in paying bills.
• Provide daily supports to individuals who need assistance with daily needs and to develop daily living skills. Work with them to find ways to cooperate with roommates so that they can enjoy good times with each other.
• Helped a gentleman who has three cars study for and prepared him for his driving test. Helped him learn to drive on the road and learn road signs. He passed his driving test and is now able to drive the cars that he owns!
